Dining at Clube Militar de Macau
The Clube Militar de Macau is one of the oldest establishments in Macau. Formerly a recreational and social club reserved for the Portuguese Military, it has now transformed itself and has opened its doors to the public by serving one of the best Portuguese menu in Macau. The Clube Militar de Macau has with it a lot of history and tradition, being founded in 1870s. Just look at its classic-styled building and stylish wooden interiors, and you’ll catch a glimpse of how Macau was in the past.
The Clube Militar de Macau is popular among tourists and Westerners for it offers good food and a taste of Macau’s history. The restaurant has a Western menu, mostly Portuguese and Macanese. You can expect to find the famous African chicken and grilled codfish in the restaurant. Also, you have the Portuguese version of Dim Sum on its menu. Apart from these, the restaurant offers daily menus and recommendations, such as the pork spare ribs roasted for 12 hours, the angus beef steak, and the oven-roasted sea bream steak with laurel and lemon. The restaurant also has specialized menus for vegetarians and for those who love their meat and poultry. For the wine-lovers, the Clube Militar de Macau is highly regarded for its good collection of wines.
Once you look at the prices, though, they could be on the high scale. Dining here is a bit expensive. To say the least, the Clube Militar de Macau is no place for a traveler on a limited budget. But if you can afford the prices, the restaurant offers a good deal. Providing good food, a classic ambience, and a glimpse of history, it’s not that bad to spend a little bit more for a good meal at the Clube Militar de Macau.
